Read on if you want to learn how to use our electric hook-up facility safely and efficiently. There are two main ways you can power electrical devices on the campsite. The first is to use a leisure battery, which is like a car battery and provides a 12V supply, and the second is an electric hook-up. Most commercial campsites in the UK will offer electric hook-ups on some or all of their pitches, we have 46 here at the Red Shoot Camping Park. The power on our site is designed on the basis of diversity so the main site power supply is geared up to an average electrical usage assuming not all hook-ups take 10A at any one time. Occasionally, if a cold spell occurs at times of high occupancy and all users switch on electrical heaters, kettles etc. Tripping the electrical supply can make you unpopular on site. Even a 12V battery can give you a nasty shock if used incorrectly. Used in the right way however, you can benefit from mains electricity and, if you take the right precautions, you can do it safely. Follow these tips below and take professional advice from your equipment supplier to ensure your camping trip is safe and comfortable!

We learned this after a run-in between the comforter and charcoal! BBQ Stuff See tote 3. The Charcoal and dirty BBQ tools really need to be contained. This is a small tote, half the size of the others. We also use this tote for doing dishes while at the camp site. Laundry basket We use a small laundry basket to bring all the little things camping.

Clean sheets, small backpack, anything that needed refilling like a new roll of paper towels. Once camp is set-up, all that stuff gets put away. We then fill the basket with our dirty clothes and towels during the trip. Makes laundry easy when we get home! All ready to pack up and go home! Cabinets The cabinet by the door 2.

Next Are there any pegs to hold the tent on the ground? How do you stop it blowing away? There does not seem to be any pegs on the corners holding it down. Chris – Downer 8 months ago G’day Chris, I’ve gone and double checked our display model. It isn’t easy to see through the online images, but the way in which you peg the tent down is through slits that run around the base. The tent has been designed to peg over the pole that runs around the perimeter of the base.

Propane for Preppers — Part Two Tanks, Valves, Regulators, and Pipes Before we move on to tanks, valves, regulators and pipes, a word about crystal meth and used propane tanks. I live in the country, near a village with one stoplight, 30 miles from Wal-Mart. Yesterday, in a house just up the road, there was an explosion that blew the front door off its hinges and the glass out of all the windows.

People who make meth use propane tanks to hold ammonia. The tanks are made of steel but the fittings are made of brass. And ammonia attacks brass, cracks it, and makes it brittle. And it gives the brass fittings a distinctive blue color. The tank may or may not hold pressure without exploding. Urban legend has it that such tanks are sometimes turned in, refilled, and recycled back to propane customers. For one thing, the tanks are screened by propane suppliers. For another, as Snopes points out, anyone turning in a meth tank with its prominent blue corrosion would draw attention to himself.

A far more likely scenario would be finding such a tank in the garage of the house you just rented, left behind by previous tenants.

One other thing you need to know about Ronnie is that he has a twin brother name Richard who is straight. There was this one weekend during our senior year when their parents were going to be gone so Ronnie had invited me over. I remember we were just hanging out and drinking with Richard and his girlfriend.

I loved how his bulge tented up inside his basketball shorts.

My first failing was realizing that trout have occupied a place of great prominence because of their surroundings and the stunning mountainous areas they can be found. As a foe, they are largely predictable —and are are weakened due to a steady influx of federally funded variations that are less wary, climatic conditions that are less conducive to their survival, and the crush of forces present in the wildland-urban interface.

The science is the same, the reasoning and deduction, the mechanics of casting, the understanding of flora and fauna and their lifecycles are unchanged, but the physics of tackle, water, and how the quarry makes use of terrain and cover all have to be rethought. Most importantly, how to overcome the adversity of large bodies of deep water and their ever-present wind. How to get flies within visual range of an ambush predator …versus throwing exacting imitations at fish that move from safety into the open to feed on the same set of insects at the same time each evening.

Our tackle and its physical limitations, our unspoken preferences, and the genteelness of our pastime are ill suited to this environment. Fly Tackle and its limitations The weaknesses of fly tackle are well known. The large diameter fly lines sink at a different rate than the monofilament tippet and heavy fly, and with each element of backing, line, leader, tippet, and fly, strange shapes are introduced between rod tip and hook point that add slack.

Hook sets have to be exaggerated to move all that sunken line into a straight line capable of pushing a large hook through lip gristle. Large open water has its own weather system, and an airless morning is promise of a stiff breeze in the afternoon.

Well, join the club. There are those of us that have done this and there are those of us that will do this in the future. It is somewhat inevitable. All RVs have two electrical systems — 12 volt or battery power and volt or household current.

After the air is expelled, the ice remains.

Quietest in its class: The name speaks for itself in terms of quality and dependability. This is part of what made it our easy pick for quietest generator over watts. It’s easily the quietest generator in its class being rated in between 49 and 58dB. Does paying more mean better quality? It’s one of the quietest generators out there.

Farewell to Microsoft Autoroute – Discontinued in If you are familiar with our blog, you’ll know Microsoft Autoroute features heavily in our route planning and navigation. Last year I spent the best part of a day compiling and formatting a data set in Microsoft Excel for use with Autoroute. Over , lines of information were formatted as hyperlinks to take you direct to where the information was displayed online from several sources. It has been downloaded more than 10, times – so at least I know I’m not alone.

To see more photographs of what Sumners Ponds has to offer – click here Sumners Lake Created about 16 years ago by damming the stream in the bottom of a natural valley, Sumners Lake is more a lake than a pond and holds a large number of common and mirror carp in double figures and the mid 20s with the current lake record being held by a 34lb 7oz common carp.

In addition, there are good heads of tench to 7lbs, chub and bream to 8lbs, perch to a healthy 4lbs, roach to 2lbs and pike to over over 15lbs, making Sumners Lake an ideal all-round water where pleasure anglers can catch good sized fish throughout the year. At three-and-a-half acres in size, the majority of the lake is about five feet deep, making it an easy water to float fish.

However, along the dam side of the lake depths go down to the natural valley floor, giving up to seven-and-a-half feet in places and making the segment of Sumners Lake from the dam wall to the island good for fishing the feeder, especially for the silver fish in winter. Most anglers fishing Sumners Lake tend either to fish the pole or waggler in the margins or open water, although those who want to reach the island use feeder or ledger tackle. The swims around the island are good not only in summer but also in winter because this is where the bigger chub often tend to hold up.

As one would expect with a water holding carp, fishing floating baits is also effective. Indeed, Sumners Ponds has a reputation for being a good water for taking fish off the surface with good sized specimens falling regularly to dog biscuits and floating pellets.
